PREPARATION
Before entering an Ayahuasca-Yage ceremony, it is important to prepare yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually with the intention of love, protection, high vibration, positive energy and prayers for healing and transformation.
The more extensive your preparation process is, the deeper your experience can be. The following guidelines will help our members and ceremony participants on their preparation:

Physical Preparation
The dietary practices and protocols planned for an Ayahuasca-Yage ceremony are known as Diet — and although the word DIET leads us to think of not eating, the preparatory practices also extend to sexual abstinence.
The way we physically prepare our body to enter an expanded state of consciousness is of utmost importance. Cleansing and purifying the physical body is done for the specific purpose of harnessing the healing potential of an Ayahuasca-Yage journey.
We especially recommend you follow the dietary preparation for at least 2-3 days before the ceremony. Eliminate processed foods, colorings, and preservatives; avoid salty, sugary, and spicy foods; cut out animal products including dairy, particularly red meat and pork; try to adhere to organic healthy food and drink a lot of water and herbal teas.
It is important to say, that if you cannot follow a strict diet, due to a health situation, we urge you to follow a light diet at least on the first day of the ceremony.  Some people are not used to fasting or dieting, so starting these practices in preparation for the ceremony can bring negative reactions, due to the lack of energy in the physical body. Please note that the lack of a strict diet should NOT be a reason for any of the members not to attend the ceremony for which they signed up.
Addictive substances like alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, recreational drugs, cannabis and other psychoactive substances should be avoided for a minimum of two weeks before the journey. Keeping in mind that the more effort you put into the preparation process, the results for the healing and the experience will be significantly better.
Try to get enough rest before attending a sacred ceremony, to avoid the possibility of falling asleep during ceremony, and if possible, take a nap before coming to the ceremony.
Another suggested behavioral change before meeting with the sacred plant spirits is abstinence from sexual activity, both with other people and on your own, for at least 2-3 days before ceremony. Through these activities, too much energy is released, which can lead to a mental inability to connect with sacred the dimensions.
Women who are pregnant are not permitted to participate.
Let us know if you have had any type of surgical intervention in the two months prior to ceremony.

Spiritual Preparation
Coming into any ceremony involving the consumption of Ayahuasca-Yage as a sacred sacrament, it is important to bring a purpose and setting your intention.
So, what are intentions exactly?
It is the reason why you want to attend an Ayahuasca-Yage Ceremony, which you will focus on and put all your faith and love into. Ask yourself questions like:

  • What do I want to heal for myself?
  • What would be my ideal outcome?
  • How would I like to feel?
  • What is my main goal?
  • What is my purpose in wanting to do this work?

Be sure that it is an authentic purpose, not just wanting to check an experience off your bucket list or confirm something you already know.
If you don’t practice meditation, now is a great time to start! Begin a simple daily practice of mindfulness. You can take 10 minutes and focus your attention on your breathing and body presence. Journal your dreams and intentions. Spend time in nature.

Mental and Emotional Preparation
The best way to get to an Ayahuasca-Yage Ceremony, after having taken into account the variations in your physical and spiritual standards, through the preparation to take Ayahuasca-Yage, is to eliminate from your mind all expectations, fears or dread.
Even if you have an intention, focusing on this purpose can fill you with anxiety and anguish and you will end up blocking the natural process that directs the Sacred Medicine. So, while it is true that for every process in our existence you must have an objective or intention, you must think that the magic of the Holy Sacrament will discover your healing needs and that will be the direction that the medicine will give to your experience. You will notice that in your journey, your intention and even more than you have imagined will be embraced by the Medicine.
